This happy, happy hound is in love with life, eager for every new day, ready for any adventure, excited about each new minute. It is impossible not to smile when you are in her presence. What makes her sunny disposition and absolute confidence even more remarkable, is the fact that one of her legs was rendered nearly useless when she was hit by a car. Her elbow was fractured and did not heal properly, but somebody forgot to tell Basie that she has a disability. This girl is as able-bodied as the best of them- able to run, wrestle, leap and snatch the bread from the counter top just as fast as your best 4-legged dog! Basie is housetrained and crate trained and will do best in a home with a canine companion close to her size or larger (she is rough on the little ones!) and with someone who has the time and patience to train her. Her exuberant nature can lead to mischief, so she needs supervision and boundaries. When Basie's long days of joyful play are complete, she turns into the best snuggler anyone could ever ask for and she sleeps quietly all through the night.
